September / October 2018

FOR ALL SPIRITUAL SEEKERS, TRAVEL TO INDIA HAS A SPECIAL APPEAL.

The very land is steeped in spirituality, where many ancient practices were developed and perfected over 5,000 years ago. Simply walking the land can leave a profound and lasting imprint on your soul. To transform your life requires a journey which will change the way you view yourself and the world. This tour maintains all the comforts of home with the profound experience of India, allowing you to absorb the area's rich spiritual traditions while enjoying safe food, excellent lodging and the guidance of experienced staff.

Highlights of the tour include:

  • Visiting New Delhi, Taj Mahal at dawn in Agra, and the Golden Temple in Amritsar;
  • Full Five day Ayurveda treatment for rejunevation at Arya Vaidya Sala, Baddi;
  • Participation in many Hindu and Sikh rituals;
  • Be in the midst of an Ayurveda healing village, and experience a multitude of treatments.

India is geographically the size of Europe. There are 17 different languages with their own scripts. As a visit to France is not representative of visiting all of Europe, equally North India is vastly different in all respects to South India. The BBC has listed the Golden Temple and Taj Mahal as two of the top ten sites to visit in the world. Your fee includes breakfast daily, all 3 meals during your Ayurveda treatments, comfortable lodging, sacred ceremonies and English-speaking guides throughout the trip. Besides visiting the great religious and cultural sites, and walking in the footsteps of the Masters, our tour also provides time to "shop with Shakta" in the bazaars and partake in local customs and ceremonies.

Shakta Kaur is your tour leader. Shakta has been to India numerous times since the year 2000. She’s introduced many to the beauty, chaos, sights and sounds of India on tours from North to South India! Shakta has also taught at various Indian conferences on Ayurveda and Yoga.

Today, the furthest end of the Bagh is marked by a Martyrs’ Memorial built in the shape of an eternal flame. October 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10. AVSK, Baddi
Ayurveda treatments. Overnight: AVSK Baddi.

Ayurveda, the Science of Life, has been practiced in India for hundreds of generations works on the basic principle of not to cure the ailment, but to cure the reason of the ailment. In India, one of the oldest continuously operating hospitals is Arya Vaidya Sala (AVS) established at Kottakkal, Kerala, in 1902. Arya Vaidya Sala, Baddi (AVSB) is located in North India where all doctors, technicians, medications and knowledge comes from AVS.

AVSB (and AVS, for that matter) is a HOSPITAL and not a SPA, and do not take in individuals for short stays where the guest has no specific ailment. While the minimum stay is seven days, a normal stay is 21 or more days. AVSB has agreed to take members of the Shakta Kaur group for a stay of five days as special consideration to present an understanding of treatments based on Ayurveda to this group who have a professional interest in Ayurveda. For this reason, visit to AVSB has been placed at the end of the tour, thereby allowing individuals to stay at AVSB for a longer period. If they were to stay for a longer period, payment for the first five days would be credited.

As advised, the five-day (six-night) stay at AVSB is for two reasons: (a) simple rejuvenation, and (b) provide you a structure of treatments based on Ayurveda. If you would like to consider treatment for a specific ailment, then you need to contact the physicians at AVSB, inform them of your issues and send your supporting medical reports. After reviewing your issues, they will advise you where such advice would include possibility and efficacy of treatment, expected outcome, expected duration of your visit, and thus, estimate of costs. Should you decide to go for a treatment longer than five days, then Spiritual Journeys will give credit to AVSB on your behalf of the five days treatment which is a part of this tour. For details, please contact Deepak Singh.

Full details, costs and other information is available at the AVSB web-site, https://www.aryavaidyasalabaddi.com/. For budgetary purposes, cost inclusive of accommodation, treatments, medication and food will be in the range of $120.00 to $ 150.00 per day, while actual will depend on type of room chosen, and complexity of medications and treatment.
